Verhaal

Emma's knusse hoekje

1. Het is avond in het appartement van Emma, en ze wil een knus leeshoekje maken voor het slapengaan.

   It's evening in Emma's apartment, and she wants to make a cozy reading corner before bed.

2. Mama Sanne glimlacht en zegt dat ze samen kunnen helpen.

   Mama Sanne smiles and says they can help together.

3. Emma pakt haar favoriete boek en een zacht kussen.

   Emma takes her favorite book and a soft pillow.

4. Ze rollen een zachte carpet uit naast de bank.

   They roll out a soft rug next to the couch.

5. Ze schuiven de furniture een beetje, zodat het hoekje open en rustig voelt.

   They move the furniture a little so the corner feels open and calm.

6. Emma zet de CD-player op de lage kast, zodat ze een rustig liedje kan horen.

   Emma puts the CD player on the low cabinet so she can hear a quiet song.

7. Ze drukt op play, maar er komt geen geluid.

   She presses play, but no sound comes.

8. De stekker ligt achter de kast, en ze kunnen hem niet vinden.

   The plug is behind the cupboard, and they can't find it.

9. Emma kruipt op handen en knieën naast de kast, en Mama schijnt met haar telefoon.

   Emma crawls on her hands and knees beside the cupboard, and Mom shines her phone light.

10. Dan ziet Mama de stekker, want hij zat achter de kast.

    Then Mom sees the plug, because it was behind the cupboard.

11. Ze steekt de stekker in het stopcontact en drukt nog eens op play.

    She plugs the cord into the socket and presses play again.

12. Nu klinkt er zachte muziek, en Emma glimlacht breed.

    Now soft music plays, and Emma smiles broadly.

13. Ze halen melk en druiven uit de fridge en zetten de glazen klaar.

    They take milk and grapes out of the fridge and set out the glasses.

14. In haar boekje staat ook het woord refrigerator, en ze wijst lachend naar de koelkast.

    In her little book the word "refrigerator" is also there, and she laughs and points to the refrigerator.

15. Emma pakt kussens en legt ze op de carpet, dicht bij Mama.

    Emma picks up cushions and puts them on the carpet, close to Mom.

16. Voor het verhaaltje gaat Emma nog even naar het toilet en wast haar handen.

    Before the story Emma goes to the toilet and washes her hands.

17. Ze kruipt dicht tegen Mama aan, en de kamer ruikt naar zeep en warme thee.

    She snuggles up to Mom, and the room smells of soap and warm tea.

18. Met zachte muziek valt Emma rustig in slaap, blij dat haar hoekje nu precies goed is.

    Emma falls asleep to soft music, happy that her corner is just right now.
