This is exciting news. However, I would have preferred that he choose a younger conductor for this long-awaited piece.

Tu as raison. Néanmoins, le maestro désigné possède une expérience inégalée dans l'interprétation des œuvres modernes complexes.

Effectivement. Cependant, les preuves archéologiques restent fragmentaires, et certaines hypothèses sont encore vivement débattues dans la communauté scientifique.

Je le sais. Bien que ces recherches soient passionnantes, elles avancent lentement faute de financement public suffisant.

I know. Although this research is exciting, it is progressing slowly because there is not enough public funding.

C'est dommage. Si l'État investissait davantage dans ces disciplines, notre compréhension du passé s'enrichirait considérablement chaque décennie.

It's a pity. If the government invested more in these fields, our understanding of the past would improve a lot each decade.

Tu as raison. Néanmoins, certains mécènes privés et donateurs généreux contribuent à combler partiellement ces manques institutionnels.

You're right. However, some private patrons and generous donors help partially fill these institutional gaps.
Antoine
Heureusement. J'ai justement entendu parler d'une exposition internationale qui présentera bientôt ces découvertes récentes au public.

Fortunately. I just heard about an international exhibition that will soon present these recent discoveries to the public.

Excellente nouvelle. Si nous y allons ensemble, nous pourrons écouter les conférences des spécialistes et admirer les pièces les plus précieuses.

Great news. If we go together, we can listen to the experts' talks and admire the most valuable pieces.
