Verhaal

Noor en de wiebelende lamp

1. In de woonkamer van het appartement wil Noor dat alles netjes is, want oma komt morgen.

   In the apartment living room Noor wants everything to be tidy because Grandma is coming tomorrow.

2. Papa Bram zegt dat ze samen kunnen opruimen om het huis schoon te maken.

   Dad Bram says they can clean up together to make the house clean.

3. Noor glimlacht, want ze houdt van hun modern huis.

   Noor smiles because she loves their modern house.

4. Ze doen de ramen dicht, en de voordeur blijft dicht, zodat het binnen rustig is.

   They close the windows, and the front door stays shut, so it's quiet inside.

5. Noor is even alleen in de kamer en veegt kruimels onder de tafel weg.

   Noor is alone in the room for a moment and sweeps crumbs under the table.

6. Als papa terugkomt met een emmer, zegt hij: "Wees voorzichtig met het water bij de stopcontacten."

   When dad comes back with a bucket, he says, "Be careful with the water near the sockets."

7. Ze verplaatsen de kleine tafel een stukje om de hoek te vegen.

   They move the small table a little to sweep around the corner.

8. Onder de bank vindt Noor een oude kam en een losse schroef.

   Under the sofa, Noor finds an old comb and a loose screw.

9. Ze legt de schroef op de plank naast de lamp.

   She puts the screw on the shelf next to the lamp.

10. De staande lamp wiebelt, en het licht knippert, dus het voelt niet veilig.

    The standing lamp wobbles, and the light flickers, so it doesn't feel safe.

11. Vorige week kraakte de stoel ook, en we maakten hem samen steviger.

    Last week the chair creaked too, and we made it firmer together.

12. "De lamp is kapot, maar we kunnen het laten repareren," zegt papa rustig.

    "The lamp is broken, but we can have it fixed," says Dad calmly.

13. Papa belt Sam, de vriendelijke schoonmaker van het gebouw, die vaak kleine klusjes doet.

    Dad calls Sam, the building's friendly cleaner, who often does small jobs.

14. Sam komt langs en kijkt naar de lamp, en wij helpen door de bank te duwen.

    Sam comes by and looks at the lamp, and we help by pushing the couch.

15. Noor pakt de kam en legt die in haar mandje, want het is van haar.

    Noor picks up the comb and puts it in her basket because it's hers.

16. Sam draait de schroef vast en zet de lamp weer recht; het lampje brandt rustig en alles is licht.

    Sam tightens the screw and straightens the lamp; the light glows steadily and everything is bright.

17. "Nu is het veilig en schoon," zegt papa, en Noor knikt tevreden.

    "Now it's safe and clean," Dad says, and Noor nods happily.

18. Ze drinken warme melk op de bank, trekken een deken over zich heen, en vallen rustig in slaap in de nette kamer.

    They drink warm milk on the couch, pull a blanket over themselves, and fall asleep quietly in the tidy room.
