La silla del salón de mamá

  1. Es de tarde en el salón de mamá Laura; el cartel de la puerta dice "cerrado".

    It's late afternoon in Mom Laura's living room; the sign on the door says 'closed'.

  2. Carmen quiere ayudar a dejar todo tranquilo antes de dormir.

    Carmen wants to help make everything calm before bed.

  3. No está sola: su mamá está con ella y sonríe.

    She is not alone: her mom is with her and smiles.

  4. Carmen limpia el mostrador con un paño y un poco de limpiador de limón.

    Carmen cleans the counter with a cloth and a bit of lemon cleaner.

  5. Mamá es muy cuidadosa y guarda sus tijeras en la caja.

    Mom is very careful and keeps her scissors in the box.

  6. Carmen pone un peine rojo junto al espejo.

    Carmen puts a red comb next to the mirror.

    When he arrives, he brings his toolbox and offers to fix the screw.

    Carmen brings a flashlight to her and listens quietly.

  13. Don Diego aprieta el tornillo con calma, y la silla ya no se mueve, porque queda firme.

    Don Diego tightens the screw calmly, and the chair no longer moves because it's secure.

  14. "Ahora es seguro sentarse", dice, y Carmen aplaude despacito.

    "Now it's safe to sit down," he says, and Carmen claps softly.

  15. Para ayudar más, Carmen barre el piso y ordena las toallas.

    To help more, Carmen sweeps the floor and tidies the towels.

  16. El salón queda limpio y ordenado, y la luz suave hace todo más bonito.

    The living room stays clean and tidy, and the soft light makes everything prettier.

  17. Mamá baja el letrero de nuevo, mira a Carmen y dice: "Mañana abrimos temprano".

    Mom takes the sign down again, looks at Carmen, and says, "Tomorrow we'll open early.".

  18. Carmen guarda el paño, apaga la lámpara y sale con su mamá, contenta y lista para descansar.

    Carmen puts away the cloth, turns off the lamp and leaves with her mom, happy and ready to rest.
