Story

La foto dorada de Leo

1. La tienda de fotos del barrio, llamada «Luz Linda», es tranquila al atardecer.

   The neighborhood photo shop, called 'Luz Linda', is quiet at sunset.

2. Leo y su mamá, Ana, entran despacio y saludan a Marta.

   Leo and his mom, Ana, go in slowly and greet Marta.

3. Leo quiere imprimir un regalo para su abuela.

   Leo wants to print a gift for his grandma.

4. Afuera, por la ventana, hay niebla y el cielo se ve gris.

   Outside, through the window, there is fog and the sky looks gray.

5. Dentro, la luz es suave y calienta el mostrador.

   Inside, the light is soft and warms the counter.

6. Marta, la vendedora, les muestra una pequeña televisión en una esquina que está sin sonido.

   Marta, the seller, shows them a small television in a corner that has no sound.

7. —Traemos una foto en el móvil —dice Ana—; es un archivo digital.

   —We have a photo on the phone," Ana says, "it's a digital file.

8. Marta conecta el teléfono y abre la imagen en la pantalla grande del mostrador.

   Marta connects the phone and opens the image on the big screen at the counter.

9. A Leo le gusta la fotografía y mira muy atento.

   Leo likes photography and looks very attentive.

10. Pero la foto se ve pálida por la niebla, y Leo frunce el ceño.

    But the photo looks pale because of the fog, and Leo frowns.

11. —Quiero que la abuela sienta calor en casa —dice Leo—, no que todo se vea tan frío.

    —I want Grandma to feel warm at home," Leo says, "not for everything to look so cold.

12. Marta sonríe y explica: —Con un toque de color dorado, la foto puede brillar.

    Marta smiles and explains: With a touch of gold, the photo can shine.

13. Ella ajusta el brillo y el color, y la pantalla cambia poco a poco.

    She adjusts the brightness and the color, and the screen changes little by little.

14. Ahora el parque de la foto tiene una luz más cálida, y las hojas parecen de tarde dorada, y Leo suspira de alivio diciendo: —¡Así está mejor!
