Story

Het kruis in het zand

  1. Noor en Sam zitten in het zachte zand bij de zee.

    Noor and Sam sit in the soft sand by the sea.

  2. Noor opent een doos uit haar tas met speelgoed.

    Noor takes a box of toys out of her bag and opens it.

  3. "Wij willen een rustig spel," zegt Noor.

    "We want a quiet game," Noor says.

  4. Ze tekent een klein kruis in het zand als doel.

    She draws a small cross in the sand as a goal.

  5. Er vaart een groot schip ver op zee, en dichterbij wiegt een kleine boot.

    A big ship sails far out at sea, and a small boat rocks closer.

  6. Hoog in de lucht kan hun vlieger rustig vliegen, met een lange staart.

    High in the sky their kite can fly calmly, with a long tail.

  7. Noor vindt een glanzende schelp en laat die aan Sam zien.

    Noor finds a shiny shell and shows it to Sam.

  8. Ze pakt de bal en wil spelen bij het kruis.

    She takes the ball and wants to play by the cross.

  9. De bal stuitert vrolijk, en Noor geeft een zachte schop naar het kruis.

    The ball bounces happily, and Noor gives a gentle kick toward the goal.

  10. Daarna tikt ze de bal met een kleine knuppel om te stoppen.

    After that she taps the ball with a small stick to stop it.

  11. Maar de wind duwt de bal verder, voorbij het doel, richting het water.

    But the wind pushes the ball further, past the goal, toward the water.

  12. Sam springt op en rent erachteraan.

    Sam jumps up and runs after him.

  13. Hij houdt de bal vast, net op tijd, en Noor zegt: "Dat is geweldig!"

    He holds the ball, just in time, and Noor says 'That's great!'

  14. Achter het strand rijdt de bus voorbij, en even later bromt een grote vrachtwagen op de weg.

    Behind the beach a bus drives past, and a little later a big truck rumbles on the road.

  15. De fiets van Sam staat naast de handdoek, en alles is veilig.

    Sam's bike is next to the towel, and everything is safe.

  16. Ze spelen nog even rustig, en dan zitten ze stil en kijken naar de zee.

    They play quietly for a bit, then sit still and look at the sea.

  17. De zon zakt laag, zij pakken de doos en de tas in, en ze gaan niet het water in.

    The sun sinks low; they pack the box and the bag, and they don't go into the water.

  18. Noor fluistert: "Wat een fijne dag," en Sam knikt heel rustig.

    Noor whispers, "What a lovely day," and Sam nods very calmly.
