Story

Daan en de kaart voor Noor

1. Daan zit na school aan zijn bureau in zijn kamer.

   After school, Daan sits at his desk in his room.

2. Hij wil een lieve kaart sturen naar zijn penvriendin Noor.

   He wants to send a sweet card to his pen pal Noor.

3. In zijn notitieboek schrijft hij wat hij wil zeggen tegen haar.

   In his notebook he writes what he wants to say to her.

4. Hij glimlacht, want hij vindt schrijven rustig en fijn.

   He smiles because writing feels calm and nice.

5. Op de boekenplank boven het bureau staan spullen die hij leuk vindt.

   On the bookshelf above the desk are things he likes.

6. Hij pakt zijn digitale camera om een zachte foto van zijn kamer te maken.

   He picks up his digital camera to take a soft picture of his room.

7. Daarna zet hij de foto op de PC, zodat hij hem straks kan printen.

   After that he puts the photo on the PC so he can print it later.

8. Hij kiest een vrolijke ansichtkaart met een kat erop.

   He chooses a cheerful postcard with a cat on it.

9. Hij zoekt een nette envelop om het adres van Noor erop te schrijven.

   He looks for a neat envelope to write Noor's address on.

10. Maar hij kan zijn portemonnee met de postzegels niet vinden.

    But he can't find his wallet with the stamps.

11. "Waar is die gebleven?" vraagt hij.

    "Where did it go?" he asks.

12. Mama Anja komt binnen en zegt dat er een krant op het bureau ligt, en dat er misschien iets onder ligt.

    Mama Anja comes in and says there is a newspaper on the desk, and that there might be something under it.

13. Daan tilt de krant op en zucht van opluchting als hij zijn portemonnee en de envelop terugziet.

    Daan picks up the newspaper and sighs with relief when he sees his wallet and the envelope again.

14. Voor de zekerheid zoekt hij Noors adres op een webpagina op de PC.

    To be sure, he looks up the Norwegian address on a webpage on the computer.

15. Hij typt langzaam, omdat hij alles heel netjes wil doen.

    He types slowly because he wants to do everything very neatly.

16. Dan schrijft hij het adres op de envelop en stopt de ansichtkaart en de foto erin.

    Then he writes the address on the envelope and puts the postcard and the photo inside.

17. Hij plakt een postzegel en legt de envelop klaar.

    He puts on a stamp and gets the envelope ready.

18. "Morgen zal ik het naar de brievenbus brengen," zegt Daan blij.

    "Tomorrow I'll put it in the mailbox," Daan says happily.

19. Hij legt de envelop boven op de boekenplank naast de PC, zodat hij het niet vergeet.

    He puts the envelope on top of the bookshelf next to the PC so he won't forget it.

20. Mama zegt welterusten, en Daan valt rustig in slaap met een goed gevoel.

    Mom says good night, and Daan falls asleep peacefully feeling good.
