Alles klaar voor morgen

1. Het is avond in de woonkamer van Sanne.

   It's evening in Sanne's living room.

2. Sanne wil Papa helpen met de tas voor morgen, want ze gaat iets ophalen.

   Sanne wants to help Dad with the bag for tomorrow, because she is going to pick something up.

3. Vorige week won ze op school een kleine voor haar tekening.

   Last week she won a small prize at school for her drawing.

4. Ze leggen alles op de tafel: het paspoort, het rijbewijs, de creditcard en contant geld.

   They put everything on the table: the passport, the driver's license, the credit card and cash.

5. Er ligt ook een rekening die morgen mee moet naar de brievenbus.

   There is also a bill that needs to go to the mailbox tomorrow.

6. Papa wil er een cheque bij doen, zodat het meteen betaald is.

   Dad wants to add a check so it's paid right away.

7. Alleen, de kleine la met pennen is op slot, en de sleutel is weg.

   But the small drawer with pens is locked, and the key is gone.

8. Waar is die sleutel? vraagt Sanne zacht.

   "Where is that key?" Sanne asks softly.

9. Ze doen eerst een rustige check van de tafel en de jaszakken, maar ze zien hem niet.

   They first do a calm check of the table and the coat pockets, but they don't see him.

10. Dan tikt de kat Mila iets onder de bank vandaan: een glanzende penny.

11. Naast de penny ligt ook de kleine sleutel, en Sanne lacht opgelucht.

12. Papa opent de la en schrijft netjes de cheque, en hij stopt die bij de rekening in een envelop.

13. Sanne telt het contant geld nog eens, en ze schuift de documenten terug in de map.

    Sanne counts the cash once more, and she slides the documents back into the folder.

14. Doen we nog één laatste check van de tas? vraagt Papa.

    Shall we do one last check of the bag? Dad asks.

15. Ze knikken, en alles ligt klaar bij de deur met de tas en de envelop.

    They nod, and everything is ready by the door with the bag and the envelope.

16. Sanne voelt zich rustig, want morgen kunnen ze alles laten zien en ook de prijs ophalen.

    Sanne feels calm because tomorrow they can show everything and pick up the prize.

17. Papa zet de zachte lamp lager, en Sanne kruipt met een plaid op de bank.

    Dad turns the soft lamp down, and Sanne curls up on the couch with a blanket.

18. De woonkamer is stil, en haar ogen vallen dicht terwijl ze aan morgen denkt.

    The living room is quiet, and her eyes close as she thinks about tomorrow.
