Story

Defne ve Zaman Zinciri

1. Akşam, Defne yatağında uzanır.

   In the evening, Defne lies in bed.

2. Komodin üzerinde bir saat var.

   There is a clock on the bedside table.

3. "Anne, zamanı anlamak istiyorum," der Defne.

   Defne says, 'Mom, I want to understand time.'

4. Ayşe içeri gelir ve gülümser.

   Ayşe comes in and smiles.

5. "Bu küçük bir plan," der.

   He says, 'This is a small plan.'

6. "Bugün güzel bir gün, yarın piknik yapacağız."

   Today is a nice day; we'll have a picnic tomorrow.

7. Defne sorar: "Hangi gün piknik?"

   Defne asks, 'Which day is the picnic?'

8. Ayşe, "Bu hafta cumartesi," diye cevap verir.

   Ayşe replies, 'This Saturday.'

9. Renkli kâğıttan yedi halka yaparlar ve yatağın yanına asarlar.

   They make seven rings out of colored paper and hang them by the bed.

10. Ayşe takvimi açar ve fısıldar: "Bu ay içinde başka küçük planlar da var."

    Ayşe opens the calendar and whispers, "There are some other small plans this month."

11. "Ve bu yıl sonunda büyük bir pasta yiyeceğiz," der ve Defne güler.

    "And at the end of this year we'll eat a big cake," she says, and Defne laughs.

12. Zincir sallanır ve odada her şey sakin olur.

    The chain swings and everything in the room becomes calm.

13. Defne fısıldar: "Şimdi beklemek kolay, çünkü her gece bir halka eksilir."

    Defne whispers, 'Now waiting is easy, because each night one ring disappears.'

14. Saat tik tak ederken Defne gözlerini kapatır ve uykuya dalar.

    While the clock ticks, Defne closes her eyes and falls asleep.
