Ada’nın Gece Dersi

  1. Bu yıl Ada, yarınki İngilizce dersi için odasında çalışıyor.

    This year Ada is studying in her room for tomorrow's English lesson.

  2. Küçük masasında çizgili bir defter var ve her satır ona düzen veriyor.

    There is a striped notebook on the small desk, and each line gives a sense of order.

  3. Ada, yeni alfabe şarkısını mırıldanıyor.

    Ada hums the new alphabet song.

  4. Defterinde büyük ve küçük harfleri dener.

    Defne practices uppercase and lowercase letters in her notebook.

  5. Adını temizce yazar ve yavaşça heceler.

    She writes her name neatly and slowly spells it out.

  6. Yanına renkli küçük bir resim çizer; bir kalp ve bir kitap.

    She draws a small colorful picture next to it: a heart and a book.

  7. Gece olunca, Ada'nın gözleri biraz yoruluyor.

    When night comes, Ada's eyes get a little tired.

    She mixes up A and E and whispers, "Will I say it wrong in class tomorrow?"

    Ada calls out to the door, "Mom, please tell me how to do it."

    Her mother Elif comes, smiles, and suggests a simple game.

  11. Elif, "cat" kelime diyor, sonra Türkçeye çevirir ve harfleri tek tek söylüyor.

    Elif says the word 'cat', then translates it into Turkish and says the letters one by one.

  12. Ada, "c-a-t" diye duyar, sonra defterde aynı sırayı yazar ve düz bir satır çekip devam eder.

    Ada hears "c-a-t", then writes the same sequence in her notebook, draws a straight line, and continues.

  13. İkisi birlikte, "A-da" diyerek adını tekrar eder ve A ile E'yi ayırt etmeyi başarır.

    Together, they repeat the name by saying "A-da" and manage to tell A from E.

  14. Ada başını annesinin omzuna koyuyor ve derin bir nefes alıyor.

    Ada puts her head on her mother's shoulder and takes a deep breath.

  15. Elif fısıldar: "Yarın sınıfta adını güzelce söyleyeceksin," der, Ada da başını sallar.

    Elif whispers, 'Tomorrow you'll say your name nicely in class,' and Ada nods.

  16. Ada lambayı kısar, yatağına uzanır, "Hazırım," der ve huzurla uykuya dalar.

    Ada dims the lamp, lies down in bed, says, "I'm ready," and falls asleep peacefully.
