Pauls leises Lied am Abend

1. Es ist Abend in Pauls kleiner Wohnung, und alles ist ruhig.

   It's evening in Paul's small apartment, and everything is quiet.

2. Paul hilft seiner Mutter Anna beim Auspacken der Tüten aus dem Shop im Internet.

   Paul helps his mother Anna unpack the bags from the online shop.

3. Sie stellen die Sachen im Regal in der Küche ab.

   They put the things on the shelf in the kitchen.

4. Paul schiebt die Löffel in die Schublade und ordnet die Tücher.

   Paul pushes the spoons into the drawer and puts the cloths in order.

5. Er gähnt und will vor dem Schlafengehen ein leises Lied hören.

   He yawns and wants to hear a quiet song before going to sleep.

6. Dafür sucht er seinen MP3-Player im Wohnzimmer.

   For that he looks for his MP3 player in the living room.

7. Aber er findet ihn nicht.

   But he can't find it.

8. Mama lächelt, weil sie Zeit hat und gern hilft.

   Mom smiles because she has time and likes to help.

9. Sie schauen zuerst im Regal neben dem Fernseher.

   They look first on the shelf next to the TV.

10. Dann öffnen sie eine Schublade und fühlen zwischen den Batterien.

    Then they open a drawer and feel around between the batteries.

11. Paul guckt hinter den DVD-Player und unter das Sofa.

    Paul looks behind the DVD player and under the sofa.

12. Doch der kleine Player bleibt verschwunden, und Paul seufzt.

    But the small player stays missing, and Paul sighs.

13. Paul macht eine kurze Pause und wäscht sich die Hände an der Spüle.

    Paul takes a short break and washes his hands at the sink.

14. Er atmet ruhig und denkt nach, weil er sich besser erinnern will.

    He breathes calmly and thinks, because he wants to remember better.

15. Vorhin hat er Musik gehört und ein Glas Wasser neben den Fernseher gestellt.

    Earlier he listened to music and put a glass of water next to the TV.

16. Plötzlich hat er eine Idee: Vielleicht liegt er auf dem DVD-Player.

17. Zusammen schauen Paul und Mama hinter die Kabel und unter den Player.

18. Da finden sie den kleinen MP3-Player, der zwischen zwei Hüllen klemmt.

    There they find the small MP3 player jammed between two cases.

19. Paul lächelt, weil er sein Lied jetzt hören kann.

    Paul smiles because he can hear his song now.

20. Er setzt sich mit Mama aufs Sofa, sie machen die Musik leise, und die Wohnung fühlt sich warm und sicher an.

    He sits on the sofa with Mom, they turn the music down, and the apartment feels warm and safe.
