Story

Lucas en de Zachte Stormavond

1. Lucas zit in de woonkamer en wil een kleine seizoenskaart maken voor de familie.

   Lucas is in the living room and wants to make a small seasonal card for the family.

2. Buiten is het, en sommige mensen zeggen ook.

   Outside it is like that, and some people say so too.

3. Het is winderig maar gezellig binnen.

   It is windy but cozy inside.

4. Er komt een, en het raam trilt een beetje.

   Something appears, and the window shakes a little.

5. Lucas rilt, want het is en hij denkt dat zijn kaart zal wegwaaien.

   Lucas shivers because it's windy, and he thinks his card will blow away.

6. Vanavond zet Mama de zacht aan.

   Tonight Mom turns on the soft light.

7. Ze legt een dikke deken van over Lucas heen.

   She puts a thick blanket over Lucas.

8. "Laten we de plannen," zegt Mama, "dan vergeet je de wind even."

   "Let's make the plans," Mama says, "then you'll forget the wind for a while."

9. In de zullen we warme chocolademelk drinken.

   Shall we drink hot chocolate?

10. Lucas glimlacht, want hij ziet in zijn hoofd een sneeuwpop en schaatsen.

    Lucas smiles because he imagines a snowman and skating.

11. "Wij houden van elke seizoen, maar vanavond blijven we binnen," zegt Papa.

    "We love every season, but tonight we'll stay inside," Dad says.

12. Papa tekent snelle kaartjes met zon, wolk, en regen om te spelen.

    Dad draws quick cards with sun, cloud, and rain to play.

13. Ze spelen Memory op de tafel, en Lucas zegt zacht: "Ik deze ronde."

    They play Memory at the table, and Lucas says softly, "Me this round."

14. De wind blaast nog, maar de kamer is rustig en warm.

    The wind is still blowing, but the room is quiet and warm.

15. Door het raam zien ze hoe blaadjes een zachte fall naar het gras maken.

    Through the window they see leaves softly fall to the grass.

16. "Nu kan ik rustig slapen," fluistert Lucas, "want de storm gaat ook weer voorbij."

    "Now I can sleep peacefully," Lucas whispers, "because the storm will pass too."

17. Morgen gaan we de seizoenskaart afmaken en tekenen we de lente en de zomer erbij.

    Tomorrow we will finish the seasons chart and draw spring and summer.

18. Hij kruipt dichter tegen Mama aan, sluit zijn ogen, en valt in slaap.

    He snuggles closer to Mama, closes his eyes, and falls asleep.
