Story

Luuk en het zachte zeelicht

1. Het is avond in de slaapkamer van Luuk.

   It's evening in Luuk's bedroom.

2. Hij wil nog naar dieren van de zee kijken.

   He wants to look at sea animals some more.

3. Mama zit naast zijn bed met een dik boek.

   Mama sits beside his bed with a thick book.

4. Op de muur hangt een grote poster met blauwe golven, en er is ook een klein nachtlampje.

   On the wall there's a large poster with blue waves, and there's also a small night light.

5. Op de poster ziet Luuk een zachte kwal, en hij glimlacht.

   On the poster Luuk sees a soft jellyfish, and he smiles.

6. Hij wijst naar een rode vis op de poster.

   He points to a red fish on the poster.

7. Op de plank naast het bed staan zijn speelgoed: een krokodil, een hagedis en een olifant.

   On the shelf next to the bed are his toys: a crocodile, a lizard, and an elephant.

8. Maar het licht is uit en de kamer is donker, dus Luuk ziet de plaatjes niet goed.

   But the light is out and the room is dark, so Luuk can't see the pictures well.

9. Hij fluistert: "Waar is het licht?"

   He whispers, 'Where is the light?'

10. Mama knikt en doet het nachtlampje aan.

    Mom nods and turns on the night light.

11. Nu lijken de golven te bewegen, en Luuk kijkt rustig naar de poster.

    Now the waves seem to move, and Luuk looks calmly at the poster.

12. Mama leest zacht: "De kwal drijft langzaam," en Luuk ademt diep.

    Mom reads softly: "The jellyfish drifts slowly," and Luuk breathes deeply.

13. Luuk tikt de krokodil op de neus en zegt: "Jij vaart mee op mijn denk-boot."

    Luuk taps the crocodile on the nose and says, "You sail with me on my thinking boat."

14. Mama lacht, en ze maken samen kleine golven met hun handen over het laken.

    Mom laughs, and they make little waves with their hands over the sheet.

15. Luuk gaapt, kruipt onder de deken, en fluistert: "Ik slaap bij de zee nu."

    Luuk yawns, crawls under the blanket, and whispers, "I'm sleeping by the sea now."
