Story

Mila bij opa en oma

1. Mila komt aan bij het huis van haar grootvader Jan en haar grootmoeder Lies.

   Mila arrives at the house of her grandfather Jan and her grandmother Lies.

2. Haar vader Tom en mama Sara zwaaien bij de deur en geven een kus.

   Her father Tom and Mom Sara wave at the door and give a kiss.

3. Het is een rustige middag en iedereen lacht.

   It's a quiet afternoon, and everyone is laughing.

4. In de woonkamer zit Mila op de bank met Lies.

   In the living room Mila is sitting on the couch with Lies.

5. Ze drinken thee en eten koekjes, en Jan speelt zacht op de gitaar.

   They drink tea and eat cookies, and Jan plays softly on the guitar.

6. Mila noemt hen lief opa Jan en oma Lies en tekent een kleine zon.

   Mila calls them dear Grandpa Jan and Grandma Lies and draws a small sun.

7. Voor het slapen wil Mila haar boek lezen, maar ze kan het niet vinden.

   Before bed Mila wants to read her book, but she can't find it.

   Where is my book?

9. Ze kijkt onder de tafel en achter de stoel in de woonkamer.

   She looks under the table and behind the chair in the living room.

10. Opa Jan zoekt mee, en oma Lies zegt dat ze eerst warme melk maken, want dat helpt.

    Grandpa Jan helps look, and Grandma Lies says they will make warm milk first, because that helps.

11. Mila pakt haar beker en houdt haar boekentas vast.

    Mila takes her cup and holds her school bag.

12. Dan lacht Jan, want het boek was tussen de kussens van de bank.

    Then Jan laughs, because the book was between the cushions of the couch.

13. Oma Lies leest het verhaal voor, en Mila luistert rustig naast opa Jan.

    Grandma Lies reads the story aloud, and Mila listens quietly next to Grandpa Jan.

    The room is quiet and the clock ticks slowly.
