Story

Emma vindt haar zin

1. Het is avond in de woonkamer.

   It's evening in the living room.

2. Emma zit op de bank met mama Sara en haar broertje Liam.

   Emma is on the couch with Mom Sara and her little brother Liam.

3. Emma wil een mooie zeggen over haar dag.

   Emma wants to say something nice about her day.

4. Ze zoekt een goed.

   She is looking for a good one.

5. Maar het woord komt niet, en Emma fronst haar.

   But the word doesn't come, and Emma frowns.

6. Mama geeft een en zegt: "Vandaag help jij Liam met de blokken."

   Mama gives one and says, 'Today you'll help Liam with the blocks.'

7. Mama stelt een: "Wat wil je vertellen?"

   Mom asks, 'What do you want to say?'

8. Emma denkt na, maar ze weet het nog niet.

   Emma thinks, but she doesn't know yet.

9. Ze pakt papier en tekent een zon en een bal, want plaatjes helpen.

   She takes paper and draws a sun and a ball, because pictures help.

10. Mama zegt rustig: "Zeg één korte zin," en Emma geeft een.

    Mom says calmly, 'Say one short sentence,' and Emma says one.

11. "Ik ben blij," zegt Emma, en ze wijst naar de zon.

    "I'm happy," says Emma, and she points to the sun.

12. "Wat deed je dan?" vraagt mama.

    "What did you do then?" Mom asks.

13. "Er zijn twee dingen," zegt Emma, "ik speel en ik help."

    "There are two things," says Emma, "I play and I help."

14. Ze maakt één zin: "Ik help Liam met de blokken en daarna lees ik een boek."

    She makes one sentence: "I help Liam with the blocks and then I read a book."

15. Mama knikt en Emma lacht.

    Mom nods and Emma laughs.

16. Liam zegt twee woorden: "Dank je," en hij klapt zacht.

    Liam says two words: 'Thank you,' and he claps softly.

17. De zin voelt goed, en Emma ademt rustig uit.

    The sentence feels right, and Emma breathes out calmly.

18. Ze fluistert de zin nog één keer en legt het papier op de tafel.

    She whispers the sentence one more time and puts the paper on the table.
