The laptop will be used for the project. I compared models all week and finally made a choice.

Tegen volgend jaar zullen smartphones vervangen worden door nieuwere modellen. Technologie gaat zo snel dat het moeilijk bij te houden is.

By next year smartphones will be replaced by newer models. Technology moves so fast it's hard to keep up.

De koelkast wordt schoongemaakt door de technicus. Hij zei dat het koelsysteem dringend onderhoud nodig had.

The refrigerator is being cleaned by the technician. He said the cooling system urgently needed maintenance.
Anna
Goed. Moderne koelkasten hebben zoveel elektronische functies dat ze bijna op computers lijken.

Okay. Modern refrigerators have so many electronic features that they almost look like computers.

Klopt. Mijn nieuwe magnetron heeft zelfs verbinding met internet. Ik kan hem starten via mijn smartphone voordat ik thuis ben.

That's right. My new microwave even connects to the internet. I can start it from my smartphone before I'm home.

Dat klinkt verbazingwekkend en een beetje overdreven. Soms zijn eenvoudigere apparaten beter.

That sounds amazing and a bit over the top. Sometimes simpler devices are better.

Je hebt misschien gelijk. Ik heb erover gedacht ook mijn vaatwasser te vervangen, maar de oude werkt nog perfect.

You might be right. I've thought about replacing my dishwasher too, but the old one still works fine.

Als hij werkt, hou hem dan. Ik heb geleerd dat nieuwer niet altijd beter is in technologie.

If it works, keep it. I've learned that newer is not always better in technology.

Slim gedacht. Mijn oude digitale camera maakt nog mooie foto's, veel beter dan mijn smartphone.

Good thinking. My old digital camera still takes nice photos, much better than my smartphone.

Klopt. Sommige oudere apparatuur heeft echte kwaliteit. De nieuwe tablet die ik vorig jaar kocht voelt al traag.

That's right. Some older equipment has real quality. The new tablet I bought last year already feels slow.

Frustrerend. Ik koop misschien gewoon een nieuw toetsenbord en muis in plaats van de hele computer te vervangen.

Frustrating. I might just buy a new keyboard and mouse instead of replacing the whole computer.

Briljant idee. Kleine upgrades doen vaak wonderen.
