Verhaal

Daan wacht op de taxi

1. Daan is blij, want morgen is er een klein reisje naar oma.

   Daan is happy because tomorrow there is a small trip to Grandma.

2. Hij kan niet slapen en wil het plan horen.

   He can't sleep and wants to hear the plan.

3. Mama staat met hem voor het huis, op de rustige straat in de avond.

   Mom stands with him in front of the house, on the quiet street in the evening.

4. "Hoe gaan we?", vraagt Daan.

   "How do we go?" asks Daan.

5. "Dit is het plan: we maken een kleine wandeling en praten, en morgen komt er een taxi bij ons huis."

   "This is the plan: we'll take a short walk and talk, and tomorrow a taxi will come to our house."

6. Op de stoep rijdt een auto, en er is een zacht geluid.

   A car is driving on the sidewalk, and there is a soft sound.

7. "Is dat onze taxi?", zegt Daan zacht.

   "Is that our taxi?" says Daan softly.

8. Mama lacht: "Nee, die is van iemand anders; de onze komt morgen vroeg."

   Mom laughs, "No, that's someone else's; ours will come early tomorrow."

9. "We gaan dan met de taxi naar het vliegveld", zegt ze rustig.

   "Then we'll take a taxi to the airport," she says calmly.

10. "Daar nemen we het vliegtuig, en dan zijn we bij oma", zegt ze.

    "We'll take the plane there, and then we'll be at Grandma's," she says.

11. Daan ademt diep en hij heeft nu rust.

    Daan breathes deeply and now he is calm.

12. De sterren zijn stil, en Daan is klaar om te slapen.

    The stars are quiet, and Daan is ready to sleep.
