Verhaal

Noor danst in de winterzaal

1. Buiten is het stil en koud, en op het raam van de gymzaal ligt ice.

   Outside it's quiet and cold, and there is ice on the gym window.

2. Noor wil bewegen in de grote zaal, want ze mist het park en de sneeuw.

   Noor wants to move around in the big hall because she misses the park and the snow.

3. Sam en Meester Bram zetten de matten klaar in de hoek.

   Sam and Mr. Bram put the mats in the corner.

4. Noor zet pop-music op via de kleine speaker.

   Noor plays pop music on the small speaker.

5. Sam doet een stap met hip-hop en lacht zacht.

   Sam does a hip-hop step and smiles softly.

6. De lampen glanzen op de spiegelbol, alsof er een kleine disco in de zaal hangt.

   The lights shine on the mirror ball, as if there is a small disco in the room.

7. Daarna schuiven ze op sokken en roepen ski terwijl ze over handdoeken glijden.

   After that they slide on their socks and shout 'ski' as they glide over towels.

8. Sam wil climb op de touwladder, maar hij gaat voorzichtig.

   Sam wants to climb the rope ladder, but he is careful.

9. Noor pakt het stokpaard en doet alsof ze aan het riding door de zaal is.

   Noor grabs the hobby horse and pretends she's riding through the hall.

10. Met een zachte bal spelen ze even rugby zonder te duwen.

    They play a little rugby with a soft ball without pushing.

11. Dan zetten ze een bord met chess neer en maken een korte, rustige partij.

    Then they set up a chess board and play a short, quiet game.

12. Ze lachen om slimme zetten, en ze leren van elkaar.

    They laugh at clever moves, and they learn from each other.

13. Plots valt het licht uit, en de muziek stopt.

    Suddenly the light goes out, and the music stops.

14. Noor zegt dat ze kunnen wachten, of ze maken zelf ritme met handen.

    Noor says they can wait, or they can make a rhythm with their hands.

15. Sam klapt in de maat, maar hij mist de glans van de bol.

    Sam claps to the beat, but he misses the shine of the ball.

16. Meester Bram vindt een kleine radio op batterijen met classical-music en zet het zacht aan.

    Teacher Bram finds a small battery radio playing classical music and turns it on quietly.

17. De rustige tonen vullen de zaal, en ze glimlachen weer.

    The gentle tones fill the hall, and they smile again.

18. Als het licht weer aangaat, fluistert Bram dat ze het goed deden, en Noor voelt zich warm en rustig.

    When the light comes back on, Bram whispers that they did well, and Noor feels warm and calm.
