Story

Mert ve Geceye Merhaba

1. Gece yavaşça gelir.

   Night comes slowly.

2. Güneş turuncu bir top gibi ufka iner.

   The sun sinks into the horizon like an orange ball.

3. Mert pencereden gökyüzüne bakar.

   Mert looks out the window at the sky.

4. Onun küçük bir dileği var: gökyüzüne "merhaba" demek ve uyumadan önce minicik bir oyun oynamak.

   They have a small wish: to say 'hello' to the sky and play a tiny game before going to sleep.

5. Elif yanına gelir ve birlikte bekler.

   Elif comes over and they wait together.

6. Gökte bir bulut var ve ilk yıldızı saklar.

   There is a cloud in the sky and it hides the first star.

7. "Bulut gidene kadar sessiz bir gökyüzü oyunu oynayalım," der Elif.

   "Let's play a quiet sky game until the cloud goes away," says Elif.

8. "Sence bu bulut hangi hayvana benziyor?" diye sorar Mert.

   "Which animal do you think this cloud looks like?" Mert asks.

9. Onlar usulca fısıldaşır ve bekler; odada her şey sakindir.

   They whisper softly and wait; everything in the room is quiet.

10. Rüzgar hafifçe eser ve bulut dağılır; artık Mert yıldızı görebilir.

    The wind blows gently and the clouds clear; now Mert can see the star.

11. Mert gülümser ve fısıldar: "Merhaba, gökyüzü."

    Mert smiles and whispers, "Hello, sky."

12. "Yarın yine bakacağız," der Elif.

    "We'll look again tomorrow," Elif says.

13. İki kardeş perdeyi kapatır, oda sakin ve sıcak olur.

    The two siblings close the curtain, and the room becomes calm and warm.

14. Mert kendini güvende hisseder ve yumuşakça uykuya dalar.

    Mert feels safe and gently falls asleep.
