Story

Pencereden İyi Geceler

1. Akşam, Ayşe pencereden apartman bahçesine bakar.

   In the evening, Ayşe looks out the window at the apartment garden.

2. O meraklıdır ve gülümser.

   He is curious and smiles.

3. Benim annem Elif yanındadır.

   My mother Elif is beside me.

4. Ayşe, bahçedeki insanlara 'İyi geceler' demek ister.

   Ayşe wants to say "Good night" to the people in the garden.

5. Ayşe fısıldar: 'Bu kim?'

   Ayşe whispers, "Who is this?"

6. Orada bankta oturan bir teyze var.

   There is a woman sitting on the bench there.

7. Ama Ayşe biraz utanır ve sesi çok küçüktür.

   But Ayşe is a little shy and her voice is very quiet.

8. Elif, 'Beraber el sallayalım,' der ve pencereyi açar; komşu Ali amca aşağıda el sallar.

   Elif says, 'Let's wave together,' and opens the window; Uncle Ali next door waves down below.

9. Ayşe fısıldar: 'Beni görüyorlar mı?'

   Ayşe whispers, "Can they see me?"

10. Elif başını sallar; 'Evet, görüyorlar,' der ve Ayşe ile birlikte el sallar; bahçedeki herkes gülümser.

    Elif nods her head. 'Yes, they can see it,' she says and waves with Ayşe. Everyone in the garden smiles.

11. Ayşe artık rahattır ve yüksekçe söyler: 'İyi geceler!'.

    Ayşe is now relaxed and says loudly, "Good night!"

12. Ali amca, teyze ve diğerleri tekrar el sallar; Elif Ayşe'yi sarar ve gece sakin biter.

    Uncle Ali, the aunt and the others wave again; Elif hugs Ayşe and the night ends quietly.
