Story

Elif ve Küçük Kelimeler

1. Akşam olunca Elif, kendi odasında ödev yapmak ister.

   When it's evening, Elif wants to do her homework in her room.

2. Babası Ali, masanın yanında oturur ve gülümser.

   His father Ali sits at the table and smiles.

3. "Ben hazırım," der Elif.

   Elif says, 'I'm ready.'

4. Elif'in ödevi, küçük İngilizce kelimelerdir; kartları masaya dizer ama biraz karışır.

   Elif's homework is small English words; she lays the cards out on the table but they get a little mixed up.

5. "Bu kartlar zor mu?" diye sorar Ali.

   Ali asks, 'Are these cards hard?'

6. Elif der: "Biraz zor."

   Elif says, 'It's a bit hard.'

7. Ali, "Hadi bir oyun yapalım," der ve kitabın üstüne on yazan kartı koyar.

   Ali says, "Let's play a game," and puts the card that says ten on top of the book.

8. Elif, minicik bir not yazar: "for" Baba, ve notu Ali'ye verir.

   Elif writes a tiny note: 'for Dad,' and gives the note to Ali.

   Ali asks a small question: "Where is the book?"

    The last card says "the." Ali puts the card in front of the lamp and says, "This is a special marker."

    Now each card finds its place on the table and Elif relaxes.
