La estrella roja de Valentina

  1. Es de noche, y Valentina estudia en la mesa de la cocina con su mamá Laura.

    It's night, and Valentina studies at the kitchen table with her mom Laura.

  2. En la mesa hay un cuaderno y un lápiz rojo.

    On the table there is a notebook and a red pencil.

  3. Valentina quiere comprobar si sus tareas están bien.

    Valentina wants to check if her homework is correct.

  4. Ella dice: "Si es verdadero, pongo una estrella".

    She says, "If it's true, I'll put a star."

  5. Si la respuesta es correcta, marco con el lápiz rojo.

    If the answer is correct, I mark it with the red pencil.

  6. Laura asiente y sonríe, y la ayuda con calma.

    Laura nods and smiles, and helps her calmly.

  7. Valentina lee una frase del cuaderno: "La luna es de queso".

    Valentina reads a sentence from her notebook: "The moon is made of cheese."

    Valentina looks at the fruit bowl in the kitchen, sees a tomato and says, "It doesn't talk; so it's not true."

    Then she reads, 'Strawberries are sweet,' and both nod calmly.

    She takes a deep breath and smiles, happy with her work.

    Laura gives her a glass of milk, turns off the kitchen light, and whispers, "You'll do fine tomorrow."
