—Is it a fish?" asks Carmen.
—No, es un reptil —dice Ana—, y respira aire, como tú.
—No, it's a reptile," Ana says, "and it breathes air, like you.
Luego aparece una rana pequeña, sentada en una hoja, y Carmen ríe.
Then a small frog appears, sitting on a leaf, and Carmen laughs.
De pronto, ven un tigre en una foto del bosque, y Carmen frunce el ceño.
Suddenly, they see a tiger in a photo of the forest, and Carmen frowns.
—¿Es un reptil también? —pregunta.
—Is it a reptile too?" she asks.
—No, el tigre es un mamífero, y solo está en la foto —dice Ana con calma—, aquí estamos seguras.
—No, the tiger is a mammal, and it's only in the picture," Ana says calmly, "we're safe here.
Cerca de la lámpara, hay una araña muy pequeña, y Carmen la mira sin miedo.
Near the lamp, there is a very small spider, and Carmen looks at it without fear.
Ana explica que la araña come mosquitos y ayuda en la casa.
Ana explains that the spider eats mosquitoes and helps around the house.
Carmen cierra el libro, abraza su almohada y dice: buenas noches, lagarto, serpiente, cocodrilo, rana y tigre.

She turns off the light and falls asleep happily, dreaming of calm rivers and green leaves.
