Story

Sem en de rustige avond

1. Sem zit met zijn moeder Nora in de woonkamer van hun appartement en wil een rustige avond.

   Sem is sitting with his mother Nora in the living room of their apartment and wants a quiet evening.

2. Hij wil een gezellige filmavond, maar eerst willen ze het thuis netjes maken.

   He wants a cozy movie night, but first they want to tidy up the house.

3. Sem helpt in de keuken met de afwas.

   Sem helps in the kitchen with the dishes.

4. Nora zet zachte muziek aan, en samen luisteren ze naar het lied.

   Nora turns on soft music, and they listen to the song together.

5. Ze wachten op een klein pakje dat komt.

   They are waiting for a small package to arrive.

6. De bel gaat, maar de postbode klinkt even verward bij de intercom.

   The bell rings, but the postman sounds a little confused at the intercom.

7. Sem zegt: 'Loop gewoon rechtdoor, dan zie je onze witte deur.'

   Sem says, 'Just walk straight ahead, then you'll see our white door.'

8. Even later kwam postbode Tom bij de deur met een lach.

   A little later, mailman Tom came to the door with a smile.

9. In het pakje zit een nieuwe tandenborstel met kleine sterren.

   There's a new toothbrush with little stars in the package.

10. Op de mat ligt ook een folder; daarop staat 'te koop' bij een rode stoel.

    There is also a leaflet on the mat; on it it says 'for sale' next to a red chair.

11. Ze lachen, want ze hebben al fijne stoelen.

    They laugh, because they already have nice chairs.

12. Daarna ruimt Sem het aanrecht op en knoopt hij een zak dicht voor het afval.

    After that Sem tidies the counter and ties a bag closed for the trash.

13. Ze zetten de zak bij de deur voor morgen en wassen hun handen.

    They put the bag by the door for tomorrow and wash their hands.

14. ‘Morgen zullen we boodschappen doen,’ zegt Nora tevreden.

    "Tomorrow we'll do the shopping," Nora says contentedly.

15. Ze zetten bekers op tafel en gaan op de bank zitten om tv te kijken.

    They put cups on the table and sit on the couch to watch TV.

16. De kamer is warm en rustig; het kleed ligt op de vloer en de plant staat naast de lamp.

    The room is warm and calm; the rug is on the floor and the plant is by the lamp.

17. Sem gaapt, hij is moe, en hij gaat even liggen onder een zachte deken.

    Sem yawns, he is tired, and he lies down under a soft blanket.

18. Nora fluistert dat ze trots is op hem, en Sem glimlacht met gesloten ogen.

    Nora whispers that she is proud of him, and Sem smiles with his eyes closed.
