Story

Mila in de rustige zoo

1. De poort van de zoo is open, en Mila glimlacht.

   The zoo gate is open, and Mila smiles.

2. Mila wil vandaag de waterdieren en de dieren op het land zien.

   Mila wants to see the water animals and the land animals today.

3. Papa Lucas houdt haar hand vast, en ze lopen rustig naar het grote aquarium.

   Dad Lucas holds her hand, and they walk calmly to the big aquarium.

4. Achter het glas ziet Mila een zilveren vis die zacht beweegt in het water.

   Behind the glass Mila sees a silver fish moving gently in the water.

5. Er zijn ook veel blauwe vissen, en Mila telt ze blij.

   There are also many blue fish, and Mila counts them happily.

6. "Wat een rustig dier," fluistert ze.

   "What a calm animal," she whispers.

7. Maar Mila denkt ook aan een koe met warme ogen.

   But Mila also thinks about a cow with warm eyes.

8. "Waar is de koe?" vraagt Mila zacht.

   "Where is the cow?" Mila asks softly.

9. Ze zoeken de bordjes, maar ze vinden haar niet meteen.

   They look for the signs, but they don't find her right away.

10. Dan komt verzorger Sanne erbij en wijst de weg met een glimlach.

    Then caregiver Sanne comes over and points the way with a smile.

11. "Hier in de zoo hebben dieren een plek die past," zegt Sanne vriendelijk.

    "Here at the zoo the animals have a place that fits them," says Sanne kindly.

12. "De vis blijft in water, en de koe staat op gras, allebei veilig."

    "The fish stays in the water, and the cow is on the grass, both are safe."

13. Ze wandelen naar de kinderboerderij in dezelfde tuin, en daar staat een bruine koe die kauwt.

    They walk to the petting farm in the same garden, where a brown cow is chewing.

14. Mila streelt de ruwe vacht, en ze voelt zich kalm en blij.

    Mila strokes the rough fur, and she feels calm and happy.

15. Als de zon lager staat, zwaait Mila naar de dieren en fluistert: "tot morgen".

    When the sun gets lower, Mila waves to the animals and whispers, "see you tomorrow."
