Verhaal

Drie beurten op het plein

1. Het is laat in de middag op het schoolplein, en Luuk wil spelen met een bal.

   It's late in the afternoon on the school playground, and Luuk wants to play with a ball.

2. Hij houdt zijn ronde bal vast; op de bal staat het woord.

   He holds his round ball; there is a word on the ball.

3. Op zijn groene shirt staat het woord in grote letters, want hij houdt van.

   The word is in big letters on his green shirt, because he likes it.

4. Noor komt aan en wijst naar de hoge ring bij de muur; op het bord staat.

   Noor arrives and points to the tall hoop by the wall; it's on the board.

5. Sam zwaait met zijn pet; op de pet staat, en hij zegt dat hij graag trapt.

   Sam waves his cap; there's writing on it, and he says he likes to kick.

6. Mila lacht en zegt dat ze ook graag speelt met haar kleine stick.

   Mila laughs and says she also likes to play with her little stick.

7. Ze hebben maar één bal, en iedereen wil iets anders, maar de zon zakt al een beetje.

   They only have one ball, and everyone wants something different, but the sun is already going down a little.

8. Luuk wil schieten naar het doel, Noor wil gooien naar de ring, en Mila wil rollen voor haar stick.

   Luuk wants to shoot at the goal, Noor wants to throw at the ring, and Mila wants to roll for her stick.

9. Sam zegt dat we samen kunnen spelen, want samen is leuker.

   Sam says we can play together, because together is more fun.

10. Ze maken een rustig spel met drie beurten op hetzelfde plein.

    They play a quiet game with three turns in the same spot.

11. Eerst rollen ze de bal laag naar Mila, en zij tikt zacht met de stick.

    First they roll the ball low to Mila, and she taps gently with the stick.

12. Dan geeft Mila de bal aan Noor, en Noor gooit hem licht omhoog naar de ring.

    Then Mila gives the ball to Noor, and Noor lightly throws it up toward the hoop.

13. Daarna tikt Noor de bal naar Luuk en Sam, en zij trappen twee keer naar het kleine doel naast de bank.

    After that Noor taps the ball to Luuk and Sam, and they kick twice at the small goal next to the couch.

14. Ze blijven zo spelen, rustig en eerlijk, en iedereen krijgt zijn beurt.

    They keep playing like that, quietly and fairly, and everyone gets their turn.

15. Als het plein stil wordt, dragen ze de bal naar huis, en Luuk zegt welterusten tegen het plein.

    When the square grows quiet, they carry the ball home, and Luuk says good night to the square.
