El cuento en casa de Pablo

1. El apartamento de Pablo es tranquilo.

   Pablo's apartment is quiet.

2. Ana es su mamá y enciende una lámpara pequeña.

   Ana is her mom and turns on a small lamp.

3. Yo quiero leer mi cuento antes de dormir, dice Pablo.

   I want to read my story before bed, Pablo says.

4. Están en la sala de estar y el sofá es blando.

   They are in the living room and the sofa is soft.

5. Busco el libro en la estantería que está junto a la ventana, dice Pablo.

   Pablo says, 'I'm looking for the book on the shelf next to the window.'

6. No está, tal vez cayó del sofá, dice Ana.

   It's not there; maybe it fell off the sofa, says Ana.

7. Van al dormitorio para mirar debajo de la cama.

   They go to the bedroom to look under the bed.

8. En otra habitación hay una caja con juguetes, pero el libro no está allí.

   In another room there is a box of toys, but the book is not there.

9. Pablo abre el armario y suspira, porque no lo encuentra.

   Pablo opens the closet and sighs because he can't find it.

10. Regresan a la sala de estar y miran por la ventana.

    They go back to the living room and look out the window.

11. Desde allí ven la calle y un árbol que se mueve despacio.

    From there they see the street and a tree moving slowly.

12. Mira, dice Ana, el libro está arriba de la estantería, junto a la planta.

    'Look,' says Ana, 'the book is on the top shelf next to the plant.'

13. Pablo sube a una silla y toma el libro con cuidado.

    Pablo climbs onto a chair and takes the book carefully.

14. Ahora hay silencio y los dos se sientan a leer en el sofá.

    Now there is silence and the two sit down to read on the sofa.

15. Cuando termina la historia, Pablo sonríe y se duerme tranquilo.

    When the story ends, Pablo smiles and falls asleep peacefully.
