Story

Luca und der Abendwind am See

1. Es ist Abend am kleinen See mit Sandstrand.

   It's evening at the small lake with a sandy beach.

2. Wir sind am Strand.

   We are at the beach.

3. Bei uns sind Luca, seine Schwester Mia und Papa Tom.

   With us are Luca, his sister Mia, and Dad Tom.

4. Luca hat heute einen Wunsch: der Drache soll fliegen.

   Today Luca has a wish: he wants the dragon to fly.

5. Papa hält die Schnur, und Mia lacht.

   Papa holds the string, and Mia laughs.

6. Doch der Wind ist schwach, der Drache bleibt unten.

   But the wind is weak, and the kite stays down.

7. Luca fragt: Wann kommt der Wind?

   Luca asks, 'When will the wind come?''

8. Papa sagt: Wir können warten und etwas anderes tun.

   Papa says: We can wait and do something else.

9. Luca sieht sein Fahrrad, und wir fahren langsam auf dem Weg neben dem Wasser.

   Luca sees his bike, and we ride slowly on the path by the water.

10. Die Räder singen leise, und es macht Spaß.

    The wheels sing quietly, and it is fun.

11. Danach gehen sie zurück und schwimmen kurz im See.

    After that they go back and swim briefly in the lake.

12. Das Wasser ist kühl, und alle fühlen sich wach und fröhlich.

    The water is cool, and everyone feels awake and happy.

13. Am Steg wartet ein kleines Boot, und Papa rudert vorsichtig hinaus.

    At the jetty a small boat waits, and Dad rows out carefully.

14. Luca und Mia sitzen nah bei Papa, und sie sehen Fische.

    Luca and Mia sit close to Dad, and they see fish.

15. Ein leiser Abendwind streicht über den See, und sie fahren zurück.

    A quiet evening breeze blows over the lake, and they drive back.
