Story

Paul zählt Sterne

1. Es ist Abend in Pauls Kinderzimmer, und die Sterne an der Wand leuchten.

   It is evening in Paul's bedroom, and the stars on the wall are shining.

2. Paul sagt leise: Ich bin müde, aber ich will noch zählen.

   Paul says softly, "I'm tired, but I still want to count."

   He wants to count to one hundred and then sleep.

4. Da kommt seine Schwester Mia, und sie lächelt.

   Then his sister Mia comes, and she smiles.

5. Wir zählen zusammen, sagt Mia.

6. Paul beginnt bei null und tippt jeden Stern an.

   Paul starts at zero and taps every star.

7. Doch er verrutscht mit dem Finger und weiß nicht mehr, wo er ist.

   But his finger slips and he doesn't know where he is anymore.

    Then Paul counts his seven favorite stars very slowly, and soon they reach eighty.

11. Das ist gut für heute, sagt Mia, morgen schaffen wir den Rest bis hundert, und Paul lächelt und schläft ein.

    That's good for today, says Mia; tomorrow we'll do the rest up to one hundred, and Paul smiles and falls asleep.
