Le plan du marché de Jade

  1. Dans le marché souterrain de la gare, Jade marche avec son sac à dos bleu.

    In the underground market at the station, Jade walks with her blue backpack.

  2. Elle veut acheter du pain et une petite carte pour Maman avant le coucher.

    She wants to buy bread and a small card for Mom before bedtime.

  3. Elle se dépêche parce qu'elle doit retrouver Maman ici bientôt.

    She hurries because she has to meet Mom here soon.

  4. Elle regarde sa montre: il est presque six heures et demie.

    She looks at her watch: it's almost six-thirty.

  5. Devant elle, un grand plan montre une boussole avec le nord et le sud.

    In front of her, a large map shows a compass with north and south.

  6. Un panneau indique aussi l'allée à l'ouest de la fontaine.

    A sign also points to the path west of the fountain.

  7. Pour la boulangerie, la flèche dit: prenez à gauche et la deuxième allée.

    For the bakery, the arrow says: turn left and take the second street.

  8. Jade avance, mais la file des gens semble loin et elle doute un peu.

    Jade moves forward, but the line of people looks far away and she hesitates a little.

  9. Elle s'arrête près d'une murale du désert peinte en tons chauds.

    She stops near a desert mural painted in warm tones.

  10. Un agent souriant, Noé, lui demande si elle a besoin d'aide.

    A smiling agent, Noé, asks her if she needs help.

  11. Jade explique qu'elle cherche la boulangerie près de la fontaine.

    Jade says she is looking for the bakery near the fountain.

  12. Noé montre le plan: la fontaine est au centre, la boulangerie est juste derrière, côté nord, et l'allée à suivre part vers le sud.

    Noé shows the map: the fountain is in the center, the bakery is just behind it to the north, and the path to follow goes south.

  13. Il dit doucement: continue tout droit, puis tourne à gauche après le kiosque aux livres.

    He says quietly, "Go straight, then turn left after the bookstall."

  14. Jade trouve enfin la bonne vitrine et salue la boulangère, Madame Lina.

    Jade finally finds the right shop window and greets the baker, Mrs. Lina.

  15. Elle demande une demi-baguette, la moitié d'une baguette bien croustillante.

    She asks for half a baguette, half of a very crusty baguette.

  16. Madame Lina lui tend aussi une petite carte avec un cœur, et Jade la range dans son sac.

    Mrs Lina also hands her a small card with a heart, and Jade puts it in her bag.

  17. Jade regarde encore l'horloge du marché: elle est dans les temps et sourit.

    Jade looks again at the market clock. She is on time and smiles.

  18. Maman arrive par l'allée de la fontaine; elles partagent un morceau de pain sur le banc et rient du chemin suivi.

    Mom comes along the fountain path; they share a piece of bread on the bench and laugh about the path they took.
