Maya's Quiet Night

Rain taps the window of Maya's cozy living room, and the street looks foggy.

المطر يطرق نافذة غرفة مايا الدافئة، والشارع يبدو ضبابيًا.
Maya likes quiet stories and wants to read her new book with Dad Ben.

مايا تحب القصص الهادئة وتريد أن تقرأ كتابها الجديد مع أبيها بن.
Her coat is still wet from the walk home.

معطفها لا يزال مبللاً من المشي إلى البيت.
After dinner, Maya's stomach hurt, and she felt a little sick.

بعد العشاء، شعرت مايا بألم في بطنها وبقليل من الغثيان.
Reading seems difficult now, and Maya looks tired.

يبدو أن القراءة صعبة الآن، ومايا تبدو متعبة.
She also feels thirsty and a bit bored on the sofa.

كما أنها تشعر بالعطش وبقليل من الملل على الأريكة.
"I feel a little angry about missing our book," Maya says.

تقول مايا: «أنا غاضبة قليلاً لأننا فقدنا كتابنا.»
Ben smiles and says, "There is a soft blanket on the chair because you need to rest."

بن يبتسم ويقول: «هناك بطانية ناعمة على الكرسي لأنك بحاجة للراحة.»
"You should lie down, and I will make sweet tea with honey."

«من الأفضل أن تستلقي، وسأعد شايًا حلوًا بالعسل.»
Maya opens the book and gets a tiny paper cut, and she sees a small dot of blood on her finger.

مايا تفتح الكتاب وتتعرض لجرح صغير من الورق، فترى نقطة دم صغيرة على إصبعها.
"Oh no, that looks terrible," she says, but Ben washes it and puts on a bandage.

تقول: «أوه لا، هذا يبدو فظيعًا»، لكن بن يغسله ويضع ضمادة.
"It only stings a little now," Maya whispers, feeling calmer.

تهمس مايا وهي أكثر هدوءًا: «يؤلمني قليلًا الآن.»
Ben brings warm tea and a soft toy, and Maya smiles.

بن يجلب شايًا دافئًا ولعبة ناعمة، ومايا تبتسم.
"Drink slowly," he says, "because the warmth will help your belly."

They breathe together, and the room feels quiet and safe.

يتنفسون معاً، فتبدو الغرفة هادئة وآمنة.
Maya sits up and reads one easy page; it is not so difficult now.

مايا تجلس وتقرأ صفحة سهلة؛ لم يعد الأمر صعبًا الآن.
Ben says, "We will read more tomorrow, and now you should rest."

Wrapped in the blanket, Maya closes her eyes and falls asleep with a small smile.
