View translation pageRuby’s Bedtime Words
Ruby is in her cozy bedroom with a small notebook.
She wants to tell a tiny story for bedtime, but she cannot find the right word.
There is a soft teddy on her pillow, and it listens in her quiet room.
Ruby looks at her teddy and makes a thinking face.
She has a question for Mom.
"Mom, what can I write?" she says, and she waits for an answer.
Mom, Anna, sits beside Ruby and smiles.
"This is a short example," Mom says, and she points to a page.
She writes one easy sentence: "I see the moon."
Ruby listens and nods; she tries a new line.
She says, "I see the moon, and I feel happy," and Mom claps softly.
The words flow now, and Ruby can write a good line by herself.
Ruby reads the note to her teddy in a warm voice.
The teddy is still, and Ruby is calm and sleepy.
"Thank you, Mom," she says; "now I can share my story with clear words and a big smile."
She has a happy face.
