Story

Gouden gloed in de winkel

1. Het is avond, en Bram gaat met zijn moeder Eva naar een kleine elektronicawinkel.

   It's evening, and Bram is going with his mother Eva to a small electronics store.

2. Ze willen een zacht nachtlampje vinden voor bedtijd.

   They want to find a soft night light for bedtime.

3. In de winkel schijnt het rustige licht.

   Soft light shines in the shop.

4. Bram kijkt rond en ziet een televisie met een helder scherm.

   Bram looks around and sees a television with a bright screen.

5. Het is druk met kleuren, maar Bram ademt rustig uit.

   It's full of colors, but Bram breathes out slowly.

6. Aan de muur hangt een plank met een digitale camera en boekjes over fotografie.

   On the wall is a shelf with a digital camera and small books about photography.

7. Tom, de verkoper, glimlacht en legt uit dat goed licht helpt bij mooie foto's, want je ogen houden van zachte tinten.

   Tom, the seller, smiles and explains that good light helps with nice photos, because your eyes like soft tones.

8. Buiten is dikke mist, en de ruiten zien er grijs uit.

   Outside there is thick fog, and the windows look gray.

9. Door de mist lijkt het lamplicht een beetje bleek.

   Because of the mist the lamp light looks a bit pale.

10. Plots flikkert een lamp, en Tom zegt dat de elektriciteit soms even zwak is in de avond.

    Suddenly a lamp flickers, and Tom says the electricity is sometimes a bit weak in the evening.

11. Bram schrikt, maar Eva pakt zijn hand met een warme glimlach.

    Bram is startled, but Eva takes his hand with a warm smile.

12. Tom zet een klein lampje aan naast de tv en draait de grote lichten lager.

    Tom turns on a small lamp next to the TV and dims the main lights.

13. Het kleine lampje geeft een zachte, gouden gloed.

    The small lamp gives a soft, golden glow.

14. Bram houdt zijn boek onder het lampje en de letters worden meteen rustig helder.

    Bram holds his book under the lamp and the letters immediately become clear.

15. Hij kijkt nog even naar het grote scherm van de tv, maar de kleuren knipperen en maken zijn ogen moe.

    He looks at the big TV screen for a moment, but the colors flicker and make his eyes tired.

16. Ik kies dit lampje, zegt Bram, want het voelt fijn bij mijn bed.

    I choose this little lamp, says Bram, because it feels nice by my bed.

17. Tom wikkelt het voorzichtig in, en Eva bedankt hem met een kleine buiging.

    Tom wraps it up carefully, and Eva thanks him with a small bow.

18. Ze blijven nog even zitten op een bankje in de winkel en kijken naar de warme kleuren tot Bram gaapt.

    They sit a little longer on a bench in the shop and look at the warm colors until Bram yawns.
