   Si hubiera sabido que iba a nevar, me habría puesto ropa más abrigada. Mi chaqueta fue completamente inútil.

   If I had known it was going to snow, I would have worn warmer clothes. My jacket was completely useless.

   Sé a qué te refieres. El equipo de emergencia trabajó toda la noche para reparar los daños de la tormenta.

   I know what you mean. The emergency team worked all night to repair the storm damage.

   El viento del nordeste era extremadamente frío. Para la mañana, todo afuera estaba completamente congelado.

   The northeast wind was extremely cold. By morning, everything outside was completely frozen.

   Mi coche no arrancaba, así que tuve que llamar a un mecánico. Él dijo que el frío había dañado la batería por completo.

   My car wouldn't start, so I had to call a mechanic. He said the cold had completely damaged the battery.

   It's very frustrating. If you had a garage, the car would have been protected from the freezing temperatures.

   That sounds smart. The forecast says we should expect more bad weather this winter.

   I heard there might also be a flood warning later this week. The river is already very high.

9. Carlos
   Deberíamos preparar suministros de emergencia. Si se va la luz, las velas y el agua embotellada serían esenciales.

   We should prepare emergency supplies. If the power goes out, candles and bottled water would be essential.

10. Sofía
    Buena idea. Compraré pan extra y comida mañana por la tarde por si acaso.

    Good idea. I'll buy extra bread and food tomorrow afternoon just in case.

11. Carlos
    Quizá también revise el sistema de calefacción. Sería terrible si se rompiera durante una helada.

    Maybe I'll also check the heating system. It would be terrible if it broke during a freeze.

12. Sofía
    Definitivamente. Estar preparado hace que cualquier desafío sea más fácil de manejar.

    Definitely. Being prepared makes any challenge easier to handle.
