Emma in der Tourist-Info

1. Emma möchte eine Postkarte kaufen und wissen, wo der Bus fährt.

   Emma wants to buy a postcard and know where the bus goes.

2. Sie und ihr Bruder Leo gehen in die große Halle der Tourist-Information am Hauptplatz.

   She and her brother Leo go into the large hall of the tourist information at the main square.

3. Über der Tür steht tourist information centre, und ein rundes i mit dem Wort information leuchtet freundlich.

   Above the door it says tourist information centre, and a round i with the word information lights up kindly.

4. Emma nimmt einen kleinen Plan, auf dem guide steht, und sie lächelt über die bunten Bilder.

   Emma takes a small map that says "guide" on it, and she smiles at the colorful pictures.

5. Auf einem Prospekt für die Stadt liest Leo oben das Wort tourist-information.

   On a city leaflet Leo reads the word tourist information at the top.

6. Daneben hängt ein großes Schild; dort ist das Wort main fett gedruckt, und dahinter steht "entrance".

   Next to it hangs a big sign; the word main is in bold and behind it is "entrance."

7. Eine freundliche Frau mit Namensschild kommt zu ihnen und sagt: "Hallo, ich bin eure tour-guide."

   A friendly woman with a name tag comes to them and says, "Hello, I'm your tour guide."

8. Sie stellt sich als Anna vor und bietet ihnen Hilfe an.

   She introduces herself as Anna and offers them help.

9. Emma sagt: "Wir möchten eine Postkarte kaufen und den Bus zum Zoo finden."

   Emma says, "We want to buy a postcard and find the bus to the zoo."

10. Auf dem Plan sind viele Linien, und für Emma ist das zuerst schwer zu lesen.

    There are many lines on the map, and at first it is hard for Emma to read.

11. Anna spricht langsam, weil Emma heute etwas müde ist.

    Anna speaks slowly because Emma is a bit tired today.

12. Dann zeichnet sie einen einfachen Weg und sagt: "Ihr steigt hier ein und dort aus."

    Then she draws a simple route and says, "You get on here and off there."

13. Am Schalter holt Leo eine schöne Postkarte für Emma, und sie bezahlt freundlich.

    At the counter Leo gets a nice postcard for Emma, and she pays politely.

14. Anna gibt ihnen einen kleinen Zettel; auf der Rückseite stehen instructions für den Bus und die Öffnungszeiten des Zoos.

    Anna gives them a small note; on the back are instructions for the bus and the zoo opening times.

15. "Das nehmt ihr lieber mit", sagt sie, "und ihr könnt den Plan auch fotografieren."

    "You better take this with you," she says, "and you can also take a photo of the plan."

16. Emma bedankt sich und sagt: "Wir fühlen uns jetzt sicher", und sie lächelt zu Anna.

    Emma thanks them and says, "We feel safe now," and she smiles at Anna.

17. Leo klappt den Plan zu und steckt ihn in seine Tasche, und die beiden setzen sich kurz auf die Bank, um zu warten.

    Leo folds the plan and puts it in his pocket, and the two sit briefly on the bench to wait.

18. Sie schauen noch einmal auf die Halle der Tourist-Info und sind froh, dass hier immer jemand freundlich hilft.

    They look once more at the tourist information hall and are glad there's always someone friendly to help here.
