Bahçede Yakın ve Uzak

1. Akşam vakti, Mehmet apartman bahçesinde yürür.

   In the evening, Mehmet walks in the apartment courtyard.

2. Ayşe, bankta onu bekler.

   Ayşe waits for them on the bench.

3. Mehmet el sallar ve 'hi' der.

   Mehmet waves and says 'hi'.

4. Ayşe gülümser, 'hello' der.

   Ayşe smiles and says, 'hello.'

5. Ama aradaki mesafe uzaktır; anne ona 'far' görünür.

   But the distance is long; his mother seems far away.

6. Yerde tebeşirle bir ok ve 'left' yazısı vardır.

   There is a chalk arrow and the word 'left' on the ground.

7. Bu küçük yol, büyük çınar ağacının yanından gider.

   This small road goes past the big plane tree.

8. Mehmet sola döner ve yavaşça yürür.

   Mehmet turns left and walks slowly.

9. Ağacın arkasını geçince, anne artık çok yakındır; Mehmet 'near' diye fısıldar.

   After he goes behind the tree, mother is very near; Mehmet whispers 'near'.

10. Mehmet koşmaz; düzenli adımlarla gider ve annesine varır.

    Mehmet does not run; he walks with steady steps and reaches his mother.

11. Sarılırlar, Ayşe 'Aferin, doğru yol buydu' der.

    They hug. Ayşe says, 'Well done, this was the right way.'

12. Eve dönerken Mehmet bahçeye el sallar ve 'goodbye' der.

    On the way home Mehmet waves from the garden and says 'goodbye'.
