Luuk in de rustige hotelkeuken

1. We zijn in de keuken van een klein hotel.

   We are in the kitchen of a small hotel.

2. Luuk wil mama helpen met eten klaarzetten.

   Luuk wants to help Mom get the food ready.

3. Mama maakt koffie voor papa, die straks uit het kantoor komt.

   Mom makes coffee for dad, who will soon come out of the office.

4. Ze zegt: 'Ik maak het rustig klaar'.

   She says, "I'll get it ready quietly."

5. Maar de pot met suiker is bijna leeg.

   But the jar of sugar is almost empty.

6. Luuk kijkt in een lade.

   Luuk looks in a drawer.

7. Er is nog één klein zakje.

   There is one small bag left.

8. Hij zegt zacht: 'Ik pak het wel'.

   He says softly, 'I'll get it.'

9. Mama schenkt de koffie in en roert alles zoet.

   Mom pours the coffee and stirs in the sugar.

10. Papa komt van het kantoor en lacht.

    Dad comes from the office and smiles.

11. Ze hebben brood en warme melk voor Luuk, en alles is stil en fijn; ze eten en praten zacht.

    They have bread and warm milk for Luuk, and everything is quiet and nice; they eat and talk quietly.
