Dix par dix, bonne nuit

  1. Ce soir, Chloé est dans sa chambre.

    Tonight, Chloé is in her room.

  2. Sur le mur, il y a des étoiles en papier, par groupes de dix.

    On the wall, there are paper stars in groups of ten.

  3. Chloé a une idée douce pour dormir.

    Chloé has a gentle idea to help her sleep.

  4. Elle dit doucement: « Je peux compter par dix. »

    She says softly, "I can count by tens."

  5. Son papa Marc sourit et s’assoit près d’elle.

    Her dad Marc smiles and sits down next to her.

  6. Ensemble, ils disent: « dix, vingt, trente. »

    Together, they say: "ten, twenty, thirty."

  7. Puis ils continuent: « quarante, cinquante, soixante, soixante-dix, quatre-vingts. »

    Then they continue: 'forty, fifty, sixty, seventy, eighty.'

  8. Mais il n’y a plus d’étoiles pour aller à quatre-vingt-dix et cent.

    But there are no more stars to go to ninety and one hundred.

  9. Marc chuchote: « Pas de souci, nous pouvons faire les dernières avec un feutre. »

    Marc whispers, 'No problem, we can do the last ones with a marker.'

  10. Il dessine vingt petites étoiles sur une carte, et ils comptent encore: « quatre-vingt-dix, cent. »

    He draws twenty little stars on a card, and they count again: 'ninety, one hundred.'

  11. Chloé respire, elle sourit, et ses yeux se ferment doucement.

    Chloé breathes, smiles, and her eyes close gently.
