Lijn en Cirkel in Lucas' Slaapkamer

1. Het is avond in de slaapkamer van Lucas.

   It's evening in Lucas's bedroom.

2. Er is een zachte lamp, en alles is rustig.

   There is a soft lamp, and everything is quiet.

3. Lucas zit op de vloer en hij is blij, want hij wil vormen tellen.

   Lucas is sitting on the floor and he is happy, because he wants to count shapes.

4. Hij heeft gekleurde tape en blokken.

   He has colored tape and blocks.

5. Eerst maakt hij een rechte lijn, maar de lijn schuift weg.

   First he makes a straight line, but the line slides away.

6. Lucas fronst; kan hij het goed doen?

   Lucas frowns; can he do it well?

7. Sara komt naast hem zitten en maakt een klein punt met een sticker op de tape.

   Sara sits down next to him and makes a small dot with a sticker on the tape.

8. Met een boekrand maakt ze de lijn recht, en met een dekseltje tekent Lucas een ronde cirkel.

   With the edge of a book she makes the line straight, and with a little lid Lucas draws a round circle.

9. Nu telt hij rustig de vormen: één, twee, drie.

   Now he quietly counts the shapes: one, two, three.

10. De kamer is netjes, en de rechte lijn en de ronde cirkel blijven liggen.

    The room is tidy, and the straight line and the round circle stay where they are.

11. Lucas glimlacht; hij heeft drie vormen en hij is trots.

    Lucas smiles; he has three shapes and he is proud.

12. Sara fluistert: 'Slaap zacht,' en Lucas sluit zijn ogen, heel blij met zijn rustige vormen.

    Sara whispers, 'Sleep tight,' and Lucas closes his eyes, very happy with his quiet shapes.
