Leise Schritte im Gemeindehaus

1. Draußen weht der Wind, und Mara möchte heute im Gemeindehaus am Seepark bleiben.

   The wind is blowing outside, and Mara wants to stay today in the community house by the lake park.

2. Sie ist mit Jonas und Leo hier, und das warme Licht tut ihnen gut.

   She is here with Jonas and Leo, and the warm light is good for them.

3. Auf der Treppe vor der Tür glitzert ein bisschen ice, also halten sie sich fest.

   A little ice sparkles on the step in front of the door, so they hold on tight.

4. Drinnen sehen sie viele Ecken für Sport und Tanz, und Mara flüstert: Was probieren wir zuerst?

   Inside they see many corners for sport and dance, and Mara whispers, "What should we try first?"

5. In einer Ecke liegt ein weicher Ball für rugby, und Jonas nimmt einen Ball in die Hand.

   In a corner there is a soft rugby ball, and Jonas takes a ball in his hand.

6. An der Bühne lehnt ein alter ski, und Leo staunt.

   An old ski is leaning against the stage, and Leo is amazed.

7. Neben dem Fenster gibt es eine niedrige Wand, an der die Kinder climb dürfen.

   Next to the window there's a low wall that the children are allowed to climb.

8. Leo tippt nur kurz an die Griffe, weil er heute vorsichtig ist.

   Leo only taps the handles briefly because he is careful today.

9. Gleich daneben stehen Steckenpferde für riding, und Mara bindet Jonas den kleinen Helm zu.

   Right next to it are stick horses for riding, and Mara ties Jonas's little helmet.

10. Dann entdeckt Mara ein Brettspiel und spielt mit Leo chess.

    Then Mara finds a board game and plays chess with Leo.

11. Sie spielen noch nicht lange, da gehen Lichter an, und eine silberne Kugel macht Muster wie in einer disco.

    They haven't been playing long when lights come on and a silver ball makes patterns like in a disco.

12. Aus den Lautsprechern kommt pop-music, und eine junge Trainerin zeigt hip-hop für Kinder.

    Pop music comes from the speakers, and a young instructor shows hip-hop to the children.

13. Jonas sagt: Ich kann tanzen, Mara, komm mit.

    Jonas says, "I can dance, Mara, come with me."

14. Leo hält sich die Ohren, weil die Musik laut ist, und Mara sieht seine großen Augen.

    Leo covers his ears because the music is loud, and Mara sees his big eyes.

15. Sie geht zur Trainerin und fragt leise: Können wir später etwas Ruhe haben?

    She goes to the coach and asks quietly: Can we have some quiet later?

16. Die Frau lächelt und wechselt die Musik, und nun spielt classical-music ganz weich.

    The woman smiles and changes the music, and now classical music is playing very softly.

17. Die Kinder bewegen die Arme langsam, und die Lichter drehen sich ruhiger als vorhin.

    The children move their arms slowly, and the lights are turning more gently than before.

18. Mara nimmt Leos Hand und zählt mit ihm drei kleine Schritte.

    Mara takes Leo's hand and counts three small steps with him.

19. Er atmet frei, und jetzt tanzt er mit, weil es sanft ist.

    He breathes freely, and now he joins the dance because it's gentle.

20. Am Ende sitzen sie zusammen unter dem Fenster, sie hören den Wind, und Mara denkt, es ist ein guter Abend im Gemeindehaus am Seepark.

    In the end they sit together under the window, they hear the wind, and Mara thinks it's a good evening at the community center by Lake Park.
