Left at the Hall, to the Family Book

1. Finn arrives at Grandma's house with his Mia.

   Finn kommt mit seiner Mia bei Oma an.

2. This is my grandma's living room.

   Das ist das Wohnzimmer meiner Oma.

3. We want to find the family photo book for bedtime.

   Wir wollen das Familienfotoalbum für die Schlafenszeit finden.

4. We look for the book, but we do not see it.

   Wir suchen das Buch, aber wir sehen es nicht.

5. There are two doors at the end of the hall.

   Am Ende des Flurs sind zwei Türen.

6. "Which door?" Mia asks, and we listen to the quiet house.

7. We open the first door and step into the kitchen.

8. The book is not here, but the big bowl is on the table.

9. We go back to the hall and close the door softly.

10. Grandma smiles and says, "Go past the sofa, then turn left to the little study."

11. There is a low shelf under the window.

12. "The photo book is on the shelf, next to the lamp," she says.

13. We turn left, find the study, and see the shelf under the window.

14. This is it, and the big book is on the shelf, just where Grandma said.

15. We carry it back to the living room and sit close on the soft rug.

16. We open the book and point to faces, and here are Mom, Dad, and Grandma.

17. "That is you, and that is me," says Mia, and Finn nods with a smile.

18. The house is quiet, and we feel safe as Grandma reads a gentle story.
