Bens fehlender Schuh

1. Es ist Abend, und Ben ist in seinem Kinderzimmer.

   It is evening, and Ben is in his bedroom.

2. Er will seine Kleidung für morgen bereit legen.

   He wants to lay out his clothes for tomorrow.

3. Er hat eine Hose und weiche Socken auf dem Stuhl.

   He has a pair of pants and soft socks on the chair.

4. Er findet einen Schuh, aber der andere Schuh ist weg.

   He finds one shoe, but the other shoe is gone.

5. Ben fragt: 'Wo ist der zweite Schuh?'

   Ben asks, 'Where is the second shoe?'

6. Mama Anna kommt und lächelt.

   Mama Anna comes and smiles.

7. Im Zimmer gibt es viele Dinge.

   There are many things in the room.

8. Neben dem Bett liegt Mamas Rock, und dort liegt auch Bens Jeans.

   Mom's skirt is next to the bed, and Ben's jeans are there too.

9. Leise sagt sie: 'Fühl mal in deine Tasche.'

   She says softly, 'Feel in your pocket.'

10. Ben greift hinein und lacht: 'Hier ist der fehlende Schuh!'

    Ben reaches in and laughs, 'Here is the missing shoe!'

11. Er stellt alles nebeneinander und nickt ruhig.

    He lines everything up and nods calmly.

12. Jetzt sind die Sachen bereit, und Ben ist müde und zufrieden.

    Now the things are ready, and Ben is tired and content.

13. Mama deckt ihn zu, und das Licht wird weich und warm.

    Mom tucks him in, and the light becomes soft and warm.

14. Gute Nacht, sagt Ben, und das Zimmer ist still.

    Good night, says Ben, and the room is quiet.
