What this grammar point covers

In German, some verbs are called 'separable verbs' (trennbare Verben). These verbs have a prefix that can split off and move to the end of the sentence in the present tense and some other tenses.

When to use it

Use separable verbs in daily situations where the verb has a prefix (like 'auf-', 'an-', 'ein-') that changes the meaning. In present tense sentences and commands, the prefix usually moves to the end.
