Ben und die kleinen Fragen in der Küche

1. Es ist Abend in der Küche, und der Tisch ist warm beleuchtet.

   It is evening in the kitchen, and the table is warmly lit.

2. Ben hat Hausaufgaben zu kleinen englischen Wörtern, und er möchte mit Mama üben.

   Ben has homework on small English words, and he wants to practice with Mom.

3. In seinem Heft steht das Wort question, und Mama Anna lächelt.

   In his notebook it says the word 'question', and Mama Anna smiles.

4. Sie kochen Tee und schmieren Brot, aber der Honiglöffel fehlt.

   They make tea and spread the bread, but the honey spoon is missing.

5. Ben flüstert: "what ist im Topf?"

   Ben whispers, 'What's in the pot?'

6. Dann fragt er: "where ist der Löffel?", doch Mama sagt: "Er ist in der Schublade", und die Schublade ist leer.

   Then he asks, 'Where is the spoon?', but Mom says, 'It's in the drawer', and the drawer is empty.

7. Ben schaut sich um und fragt auf Deutsch: "Wo ist der Löffel?"

   Ben looks around and asks in German, "Where is the spoon?"

8. Da entdeckt er den Löffel hinter dem Becher und ruft leise: "Ah, hier!"

   Then he finds the spoon behind the cup and calls softly, 'Ah, here it is!'

9. Er hält zwei Tassen hoch und fragt: "which Tasse nehme ich?", und Mama sagt: "Die blaue."

   He holds up two cups and asks, "Which cup should I take?", and Mom says, "The blue one."

10. Ben lauscht auf das leise Kochen und fragt: "when ist der Tee fertig?", und Mama sagt: "Gleich."

    Ben listens to the quiet cooking and asks, "When will the tea be ready?" Mom says, "Soon."

11. Beim Rühren fragt Ben noch: "how rühre ich den Honig?", und Mama zeigt es langsam.

    While stirring, Ben asks, 'How do I stir the honey?', and Mom shows him slowly.

12. Ben nickt: "Ich kann es", und er rührt ruhig und lächelt.

    Ben nods, "I can do it," and he stirs gently and smiles.

13. Der Tee ist süß, die Brote sind fertig, und Ben ist bereit fürs Bett.

    The tea is sweet, the sandwiches are ready, and Ben is ready for bed.

14. Er flüstert: "Danke, Mama", und die Küche ist still und warm.

    He whispers, 'Thank you, Mama,' and the kitchen is quiet and warm.
