Tips
- Don't confuse gereklilik kipi (-meli/-malı) with the imperative form (command). Gereklilik is softer and expresses necessity, not direct orders.
- Pay attention to vowel harmony when choosing between -meli and -malı.
- To talk about past necessity, add the past copula (ydi/ydi) after -meli/-malı.
Exceptions and edge cases
- Some verbs with irregular stems (like 'etmek', 'gitmek') may have slight spelling changes when adding -meli/-malı.
