Key forms

Examples
Erken kalktım, sınava çalışmak için.
English: I woke up early to study for the exam.
Kapıyı kapattım, çocuk üşümesin diye.
English: I closed the door so that the child doesn't get cold.
Not alıyorum, unutmamak için.
English: I take notes in order not to forget.
Dışarı çıktım, biraz yürüyeyim diye.
English: I went outside so that I can walk a bit.
Tips
- Use the verb root + -mek/-mak before 'için' to express purpose.
- For a different subject in the purpose clause, use '-sın diye'.
- 'Diye' can also be used after the verb root for informal speech.
