Ne zaman kullanılır
İngilizcede süperlatifler, bir kişi veya nesnenin bir gruptaki en iyi, en kötü, en büyük, en küçük vb. olduğunu belirtmek için kullanılır.
Temel biçimler
- Kısa sıfatlar için: the + adjective + -est (ör: the biggest)
- Uzun sıfatlar için: the most + adjective (ör: the most beautiful)

This is the most expensive restaurant in town.
Türkçe: Bu, şehirdeki en pahalı restoran.
My house is the oldest on the street.

İpuçları
- İngilizcede süperlatif kullanırken her zaman başına 'the' getirilir.
- Sonu -y ile biten sıfatlarda, 'y' harfi 'i'ye dönüşür ve -est eklenir (ör: happy → the happiest).
- Bazı sıfatların düzensiz süperlatif halleri vardır (ör: good → the best, bad → the worst).
İstisnalar ve kenar durumları
- Düzensiz süperlatifler: good → the best, bad → the worst, far → the farthest/furthest.
- Bazı sıfatlar süperlatif yapılmaz (ör: unique, perfect).
