Present continuous হলো ইংরেজি ভাষার একটি ক্রিয়া কাল, যা এখনই বা বর্তমান সময়ের আশেপাশে ঘটছে এমন কাজ বোঝাতে ব্যবহৃত হয়।
কখন এটি ব্যবহার করবেন
Present continuous ব্যবহার করুন যখন কোনো কাজ কথা বলার মুহূর্তে ঘটছে, অথবা এখনকার আশেপাশে কোনো সাময়িক অবস্থা বোঝাতে।
মূল রূপ
- Subject + am/is/are + verb-ing
- I am eating.
- She is studying.
- They are playing.
উদাহরণ
She is talking on the phone.
বাংলা: সে ফোনে কথা বলছে।
They are watching TV.
বাংলা: তারা টিভি দেখছে।
We are having dinner.
বাংলা: আমরা রাতের খাবার খাচ্ছি।
টিপস
- ক্রিয়ার আগে am/is/are ব্যবহার করতে ভুলবেন না।
- মূল ক্রিয়ার শেষে সবসময় -ing যোগ করুন।
- কিছু ক্রিয়া সাধারণত continuous form-এ ব্যবহৃত হয় না (যেমন 'know', 'like', 'believe')।
ব্যতিক্রম ও বিশেষ অবস্থা
- কিছু ক্রিয়াকে (stative verbs) সাধারণত present continuous-এ ব্যবহার করা হয় না।
- বানানে পরিবর্তন: -e দিয়ে শেষ হওয়া ক্রিয়াগুলোর -e বাদ দিয়ে -ing যোগ করতে হয় (যেমন 'make' → 'making')।
